Violent Mood Swing formed during a global pandemic in 2020,
Veterans of the Irish Punk scene Peter Johnson from Dundalk's Rumble (Dead Elvis, John Peel sessions 1995) and Donn Knieval from Striknien D.C (Rugger Bugger, Rejected Records) decided to follow up on a plan they had hatched 26 years earlier to write and record an album together.
After sending each other a bunch of demos they brought in Colin Berrill
of Mercy killers (Hellcat records) and the flaws (Polydor UK) on drums/percussion.

IN REGARDS TO YOUR PREVIOUS EMAIL.. was recorded over five days in Ashford co. Wicklow with Tommy O Sullivan producing.
Baz the Frenchman (NOFX: the Decline at Red Rocks) wrote and performed string arrangements on 2 tracks.

The albums themes run the gamut of Good and Evil, mental health, local heroes, revenge, masculinity, Gut Hormones, political correctness and Spies!
The music is Punky, Alternative, Rock 'N' Roll and even some Latin grooves

.The sound of VMS has been described as "Like a Dead Kennedys influenced rockabilly band, trying to not play rockabilly, Absolute class"
